Comics: A Global History, 1968 To The Present

This book presents the first global history of comics worldwide from the late 1960s to the present. Comics, manga, bandes dessinées, fumetti, tebeo, and historietas have been a powerful medium across four continents for decades. The authors, two knowledgeable authorities, provide a comprehensive history of this accessible and democratic art form. They have intimate familiarity with schools, styles, writers, artists, and companies across countries and generations. This book offers a unique lens, examining post-apocalyptic dreamscapes and everyday portraits during this thirty-plus year period. The book includes 289 illustrations in color and black-and-white. (This book may contain a sharpie mark on the top or bottom edge and may show mild signs of shelfwear.)
